St. Benedict's Cathedral in Manhattan has been blasphemously vandalized, and Father Lazar is shocked to find that his colleague Father Artemis has become possessed by a demon (and is the cause of the vandalism) when he suddenly breaks off his sermon and speaks blasphemous words in a woman's tongue and jumps off the pew and seriously injures himself. Father Lazar goes to the 13th floor of the Empire State Building, where Gabriel, one of the world's greatest exorcists operates. There, Lazar explains the situation, however, he suddenly becomes possessed and attacks Gabriel. Gabriel blocks the attack and exorcises the priest. When he has no recollection of the attack, Gabriel agrees to take the case.
