History

Not much is known about the reality before it diverged from Earth-6109, but seemingly some events of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance happened here as well and Doctor Doom was defeated, while in his absence Latveria was ruled by Lucia von Bardas. After Nick Fury's unsanctioned Secret War in Latveria, Lucia attacked New York and placed a bomb in the middle of the city, but she was stopped and destroyed by the heroes of Ultimate Alliance. Right after this disaster a Stamford catastrophe happened and a Superhuman Registration Act came into power, which split the Ultimate Alliance down the middle and the heroes found themselves in the middle of a Civil War. The war was stopped when the nanites Reed Richards and Henry Pym used on villains during the Civil War formed a collective consciousness and tried to take over the world. Nevertheless, the threat was stopped thanks to the collective power of the Earth's mightiest heroes.[1]

Trivia

  • Since the pastgen version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was developed separately from the main version and used only core ideas of that game, this version had many unique and unexpected story decisions and also reused many assets from Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. The game was made using the engine of the first MUA game. However, it lacks in details. For example, there's no alternate costumes for characters and no team bonuses. The collectibles are also very rare.
  • The final cutscenes of the game were taken from the main version of MUA 2, but they weren't present in that game. It's unkown why they were cut and replaced by Iron Man/Captain America speech in front of the White House. Notably enough, the version for Nintendo DS used their own versions of these rejected cutscenes.
