He once told me he wished he was old enough to be a full-fledged reporter so he could use his skills as Spider-Man to break a story that other people couldn't break. Or use things that he found out at the newspaper to be Spider-Man and get to things other super heroes wouldn't know about, you know? 
History
As an adult, Peter used his skills as Spider-Man combined with his job as a reporter to go after villains such as the Kingpin and the Punisher in ways that both other reporters and other superheroes couldn't.[1] This reality manifested in a daydream by the Gwen Stacy of Earth-1610.
