History

Brak the Barbarian was hired by an unnamed village to fight off a Dragon-Thing in the Dead Place. To assist in this task he visited a witch named Valena who offered to enchant his blade in exchange for gold, but told him that it would also leave the barbarian cursed for a short time to attack the first other he sees within the hour of slaying the dragon.

Brak ventured to the Dead Place and slew the dragon, but was startled by a young woman named Jonel who was sent by the witch to see to Brak's nonexistent wounds. Thankfully due to the sun in the Barbarian's eyes he did not seethe young woman and instead reached out for her sash and bound his eyes.

Together the two ventured back to the witch cloth still covering his eyes. Valena questioned if the Barbarian had been injured during the fight but he denied it and explained to her what transpired. It was there that Brak declared to the witch her betrayal over petty jealousy of Jonel's beauty and so he moved in for the kill. Valena attempted to call forth her magic to slay the barbarian but Brak was too swift and slew her. Upon exiting the hut of the witch he posed the question if her magic had helped him kill the dragon or if it was him alone who accomplished the task.[1]
