Clifford was a lonely and clumsy man who desired to have a "Perfect Christmas" for once in his life.

Originally, Clifford appeared to be a relatively normal man. However, he also appeared frustrated with his own clumsiness. When Clifford was given complete control over a magic snow globe Christmas town, he apparently went mad with power and sought to eliminate all potential threats to his "Perfect Christmas". After he was defeated and became trapped in the snow globe along with his town, Clifford appeared to have returned to normal, now happy and no longer obsessed with having a "Perfect Christmas".

Clifford' wish was granted one Christmas eve, when he accidentally broke his nana's snow globe which turned out to be magic. The snow globes contents were released into the real world, creating an entire town that Clifford had full control over and where he could have the Christmas he always wanted. Unfortunately, Clifford went mad with power, and punished all trespassers who entered his new town, believing them to be threats to his "Perfect Christmas".
