Pouncer is a Thwomp-like enemy which appears in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.

Physical description[]

Pouncer is a gray, stone-shaped creature. It has spikes protruding from all sides, including around its face. Unlike regular Thwomps, Pouncers do not have any spikes on top, so Wario can stand on one without taking damage.

Behavior[]

Pouncers tend to act like Thwomps, but some Pouncers follow a set path, and they can be used as a platform for Wario to safely move across gaps. If Wario touches the side of a Pouncer, he takes damage.
