Lottacoins Island is a major location from Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It can be found in the Color-Full Sea following Merrygo Island's linking, and is the seventh island to be linked to Shipshape Island. As its name implies, Lottacoins Island is a business-themed location. Mario and Luigi learn the Bros. Ball move here as well as the Bros. Attacks Hatch Me if You Can and Thunder Dynamo. During the fly-in animation when the Bros. launch over to the island, Luigi rolls on an umbrella and lands on a chair that breaks his fall, and treats himself to a drink as Mario lands seconds after.

History[]

Before Zokket and his minions sundered Concordia, the city that would eventually become Lottacoins Island boosted Concordia's economy.

Shady Lottacoins Business[]

After the gang connects Merrygo Island, Princess Peach becomes intrigued with Zokket's plans, so she volunteers to be captured and brought to Lottacoins Island via Snaptor. Mario, Luigi, Snoutlet, and the IDLE group then head over to the island via Shipshape Island's Cannon. When they land, they get a call from Peach, who explains that she is in a cell on the island. After the Bros. investigate the building, Peach can be found in a cell with a few Concordian men who also got imprisoned. One prisoner gives a paper that gives a hint to the code to open the cell, which the Bros. figure out, freeing the prisoners. Peach then explains that the Extension Corps took the building over and are using it as a waystation for their army. However, Ellow gets captured, so the Bros., using the Bros. Ball, chase after the Extension Corps, cornering them on the rooftop. As the Extension Corps gloats over his fate, Ellow slips away, saving himself. The Extension Corps proceeds to retreat from the island, summons a Mega Snaptor (a massive breed of Snaptor), but the Bros. defeat the giant bird in combat. Mario and Luigi link Lottacoins Island to Shipshape Island and everyone returns there.

Alternate Scenario: Luijailbird[]

Alternatively, Luigi can get captured by the Snaptor in Peach's place, which renders the Hatch Me if You Can and Thunder Dynamo useless upon obtainment. If this happens, Mario is forced to head over there on his own, Peach is written out of the storyline, and Luigi is written out of the fly-in animation. Luigi will eventually break out on his own, reuniting with Mario in the hallway (at which point the Bros. regain their Bros. Attacks including the new ones they would get here), and the Concordian prisoner who gave the hint to the code to open the cell explains what the Extension Corps is doing. The rest is unchanged.

Other Adventures[]

The Monster Maniac appears here, summoning some Mettozokettoheitachi that can call reinforcements (to simulate a revival ability that his pre-battle dialogue implies) unless the Bros. defeat them all at once.

Epilogue[]

During the credits, Technikki and Adaphne can be seen chatting on Lottacoins Island.

Trivia[]

This is the only island where Luigi lands first; Mario lands first on other islands.
