Chef Bros. (or Chef Brothers) are a variety of Hammer Bro. that throws frying pans at Mario. They strongly resemble Hammer Bros. with the primary exceptions being their weapons and they also wear chef hats. They made their first appearance in the game Super Mario Odyssey.

A Chef Bro's main method of attack is throwing frying pans. The easiest way to defeat them is to jump on them to get rid of them. Mario can also capture Chef Bros. and use their frying pans to break open the stoney cheese blocks and kill enemies such as Spinies, stronger enemies such as Podoboos are immune to the frying pans however.

History[]

Chef Bros. appear in Mount Volbono of the Luncheon Kingdom, Mario must capture one of them and using his frying pans to break the cheese rocks to find a switch for a Power Moon many more Chef Bros. can be found around the kingdom and their abilities are necessary for either finding Power Moons or traversing the area.

• Despite their differences to regular Hammer Bros., Chef Bros. are considered Hammer Bros. by the game’s menu.
• Fire Bros. wearing chef hats can also be found in the Luncheon Kingdom however these aren’t Chef Bros. as they still toss their usual Fireballs.
