The Big Windmill is a landmark location of Bianco Hills in Super Mario Sunshine. The only source of its name is from a Pianta.
Description[]
The Big Windmill is located on top of a spiraling stone path. It has four wooden blades, each one having a platform attached to it. The blades move slowly in a clockwise pattern, so Mario can stand on a platform and have it carry him up to the rooftop. There is an alcove in the center of the Big Windmill. The interior of the windmill is empty.
History[]
The Big Windmill only plays a notable role in Episode 2: Down with Petey Piranha!. Here, Petey Piranha can be found on the rooftop, and if Mario reaches Petey, a short cutscene plays, during which the rooftop cracks, and both Mario and Petey fall into the Big Windmill. While Petey is also seen atop the Big Windmill in Episode 1: Road to the Big Windmill, Mario can use unconventional means to reach him there by skipping the episode's Shine Sprite when it appears to instead go to the Big Windmill to fight Petey instead, just like in Episode 2: Down with Petey Piranha!.
