John Peach (ジョン・ピーチ, Jon Pīchi) is a boy traveling MÄR Heaven. His companions are three gelatinous creatures called Burube, Torobe, and Garobe, who care very much for his safety.
Appearance[]
John Peach is a teenage boy with brown hair raised by a pink headband. He wears a red vest with a lone strap across the chest, and maroon jogger pants
Personality[]
John Peach is a boy who fancies himself as the future great hero of MÄR Heaven, quite ignorant of his dim-witted and cowardly nature. As such, his backpack are full of ÄRMs that are either too hard for him to use, very weak, or do not work right.
History[]
Due to being the strongest in his village, John Peach foolishly thought he could beat the Chess and set off to do just that when the second war broke out.
Second Great MÄR Heaven War[]
Hearing about the Chess Pieces' raid in Vestry, John and his companions made their way through the neighboring desert and encountered a pair of pillagers making off with a cart of stolen goods. John decides to fight them, and activates his Weapon ÄRM, Thousand Arm. One of the other pillagers decides to counter with his never-before-used Guardian ÄRM, Demon Tarantula.
John attempts to jump attack the gigantic spider with his weapon, but it merely smacks him back down with one of its legs and his weapon deactivates as a result. The Guardian then turns on its summoner, picking him up with its leg and throwing him inside its underbelly, eating him and then de-summoning itself as a result. The ÄRM falls right beside John, still out cold, while the remaining pillager runs off in horror. His companions who were hiding behind the cart come out to wake him and mistakenly believe John had defeated the pillagers. John immediately believes them, and discovers the Guardian ÄRM and treasure left behind. His friends think they should return the stolen treasure, though John thinks that he is entitled to the treasure for "being a hero".
Nevertheless, John and his friends hastily arrive in Vestry with their cart filled with cargo and declared to its people that he would drive out the Chess for them. Everyone was dumbfounded, and John mistook a boy named Ginta and his ÄRM, Babbo, for being a Chess boss, immediately activating his Weapon ÄRM, Battle Hoe, to attack. His attack is blocked by Ginta and Babbo, the latter of which startled John upon speaking. Ginta explains to him that he and his friends already defeated the Chess in Vestry.
Frustrated that Team MÄR "stole" his job, John lashes out at them but is quick to be chastised for his attitude. Snow tries to act as a mediator, inviting John to join the team, but the rest of the team is quick to reject the idea when John states he's keeping the villagers' stolen possessions as a tip. Ginta angrily challenges John to a fight outside the village: if John wins, he can become the new leader of Team MÄR, but if Ginta wins then John must return all of the stolen goods.
The contest, proposed by Snow, is a foot race. The rule is for them to take a lap around the base of the nearby volcano, and the first back wins. Ginta charges forth while John casually jogs, plotting to use his Dimension ÄRM, Idaten Skis, to cheat. Despite taking the lead, he is unable to change direction while going so fast and ends up crashing into a tree, allowing Ginta to reclaim the lead. John retries with his Dimension ÄRM, Missing Ring, but due to not understanding what it does, it warps him to the crater of the volcano instead. Ginta proceeds to win the race.
After being saved, John Peach stubbornly refuses to admit defeat. Observing his companions' discontent, Snow tells John what being a "real hero" is and his attitude is not reflective of it. John foolishly dismisses this claim, but before another fight breaks out, the surviving pillager who ran away from before returns with friends to take back their loot. John tells Team MÄR not to interfere, and he once more activates his Weapon ÄRM, Battle Hoe. The pillagers easily defeat them with their bare hands, and Team MÄR mocks him for having zero magic power. John's companions claim that this couldn't be, as he had defeated a powerful spider guardian earlier, which alerts Dorothy.
John remembers his newly acquired ÄRM and takes it out to summon. The pillagers are horrified, but Demon Tarantula turns around and targets John. instead. Dorothy explains that, due to the nature of such an old Guardian ÄRM, John's apparent victory over the pillagers from before was due to dumb luck. Burube, Torobe, and Garobe rush to stop the spider by grabbing the leg that it used to try to grab John. Turning around to see their selflessly risk their lives for him, John climbs up another leg to try to reach them before they get eaten. Ginta quickly uses Babbo, Version 1: Hammer Arm, to defeat it with a single uppercut punch to the jaw. John, his companions, and the pillager from earlier are saved. He embraces his friends as they cry together.
By sundown, John Peach acknowledges his weakness and foolishness, but Ginta and Babbo give him encouragement that he still can be a real hero by becoming stronger. John Peach, Burube, Torobe, and Garobe bid farewell and leave Vestry.
War Games[]
John Peach and his companions arrive at Reginleif Castle to cheer for MÄR in the final battle, particularly the last match between Ginta and Phantom.
Happily Ever After[]
He's seen at the end of the anime training with his three friends as he meditates under a waterfall.
ÄRMs[]
John Peach has a handful of both Weapon and Dimension ÄRMs, though due to his lack of magical power and combat experience, he typically fails in making the best use of any of them.
- Battle Hoe: A Weapon ÄRM like Jack's Battle Scoop, it's very weak with apparently no systems to enhance it.
- Thousand Arm: A Weapon ÄRM consisting of many arms holding swords linked together and pointed outward. The user attacks with this by spinning it and lunging at the enemy.
- Idaten Skis: A Dimension ÄRM that equips skis to the user's feet, allowing one to move quickly across snow and apparently, dry ground.
- Missing Ring: A Dimension ÄRM that can teleport the user to a location at random.
- Demon Tarantula: An ancient Guardian ÄRM that summons a large spider which is impossible to control and won't return stop rampaging until it eats the one who summoned it or is struck hard enough to force it to return to ÄRM form. When reverted by being struck, the ones it consumed are set free.
