Mispolm is the Benevodon of Wood. It appears as a boss in Trials of Mana and takes the form of a giant plant with a pumpkin face. Though it is assumed to be sentient, it doesn't display any personality aside from a desire or instinct for destruction.
Background[]
Mispolm was described as being an "incarnation of disaster" that existed before the world had been fully born. It wreaked destruction on existence until the Goddess of Mana defeated it with the Sword of Mana and sealed it away inside the Mana Stone of Wood.
Release[]
When the villains in Trials of Mana obtain the Sword of Mana, they release the Benevodons from the Mana Stones. Once released, Mispolm remains near the former location of the Wood Mana Stone in the Woods of Wandara in order to build its strength in preparation for wreaking havoc across the land. As a result, the Benevodon becomes stronger depending on how many of its brethren the heroes have defeated before they challenge it.

Once the heroes have found their way through the maze-like Woods of Wandara, they come face-to-face with Mispolm. The Benevodon does not move, making it easy to hit, but it can still be a difficult boss. Mispolm has two large vines with "mouths" on the end that it uses to physically attack its foes. It will also use spells such as Sleep Flower to interfere with the heroes' efforts to attack it. It is weak to Wind elemental attacks.

- Mispolm's secondary heads strongly resemble Tropicallo from Secret of Mana.
- Mispolm reappears in Children of Mana. It had fused with Lightgazer to form Galem.
- In Trials of Mana, the musical theme that plays when battling Mispolm is titled "Frenzy", which also plays in the Seaside Cavern in Beuca.
