Role in the Story[]
Background[]
Eons before the start of the story, before Fa'Diel became Qi'Diel, Khoda was named the first Soul Guard and became the guardian of the Mana Sanctuary. He was a contemporary to Daelophos' victory over the Benevodons and fought to protect the goddess when the Mana Knight went mad. Helped by the eight Mana Spirits, he sacrificed his life to seal Daelophos into a boulder, in which he planted the Mana Sword to serve as the key to the seal.
From then on, the Mana Goddess entered a deep slumber to contain Daelophos' Curse, while Khoda's ghost watched the Sanctuary with Vadise and Trent for sole company, bound by duty but plagued by guilt and grief. The merging of the Five Realms into one and the curse depleting the Power of Mana, Faerie (Visions of Mana) had to select an Alm for each Mana Spirit every four years, so that Khoda could sacrifice them and turn their souls into Corestones to sustain the Mana Tree, hoping that someone would be able to awake the Goddess and break the cycle.
