Fiegmund is the Benevodon of Water. It appears as a boss in Trials of Mana, is one of the seven Benevodon bosses in which the Player(s) can tackle in any order they chose and takes the form of a giant blue lizard or a Drake.
Though it is assumed to be sentient, Fiegmund doesn't display any personality aside from a desire or instinct for destruction. Like many Water-elemental enemies in the game, Fiegmund's attacks are actually Ice-based.
Background[]
Fiegmund was described as being an "incarnation of disaster" that existed before the world had been fully born. It wrought destruction on existence until the Goddess of Mana defeated it with the Sword of Mana and sealed it away inside the Mana Stone of Water.
Release[]
When the villains in Trials of Mana obtain the Sword of Mana, they release the Benevodons from the Mana Stones. Once released, Fiegmund remains near the former location of the Water Mana Stone in the Labyrinth of Ice in order to build its strength in preparation for wreaking havoc across the land. As a result, the Benevodon becomes stronger depending on how many of its brethren the heroes have defeated before they challenge it.
Battle[]
After making their way through the labyrinth, the heroes confront the Benevodon. During the battle, Fiegmund will occasionally jump offscreen and reappear on the underside of the arena, allowing it to evade any and all physical attacks.
As a Water-elemental creature, Fiegmund is weak to Fire-based attacks and magic. It is also healed by Water-based attacks and magic.

Trivia[]
- Fiegmund reappears in Children of Mana. It had fused with Land Umber and formed Landmund. After Landmund's defeat, it returned to its natural state.
- Altho design to be a lizard, Fiegmind's design could also be based off of a Drake, a Mythological creature in which it is a large Dragon with two arms and two legs, but no wings.
- In Trials of Mana, the musical theme played when battling Fiegmund is titled "Secret of Mana", which is often mistaken as "Strange Medicine". It shares this battle theme with Grapplavine.
