Bararaq Saiqa (
Trivia[]
- The "Bararaq" element of this vessel's name is probably derived from the Arabic word براق barrāq "flashing" (itself derived from the related Arabic word برق barq "lightning"). The "Saiqa" element of the name (commonly used for vessals & techniques involving swords) might either be derivied from the Arabic word صاعقة ṣā3iqa "thunderbolt" (perhaps making a relationship between swords and thunderbolts), or perhaps is derived from a misreading of the Arabic word سيف saif "sword" as the non-existant word سيق saiq (in many fonts, those two words only differ in the number of dots over the last letter, so it is possible the Arabic word for "sword" was misread as having a ق (q) instead of a ف (f) as the last letter).
