Hi-Metal R is a line of real robot figures by Bandai. The successor to the VF Hi-Metal line, the figures are fully poseable and feature plastic and diecast metal parts.
The 1/100 scale VF-1 Valkyrie greatly improves upon its VF Hi-Metal incarnation with metal shoulder joints, a redesigned head sculpt, thicker biceps, and a removable nose cone to accommodate the GBP Armor. Like its predecessor, the Hi-Metal R Valkyrie features full transformation with minor parts-swapping and includes the option to use either TV-style or movie-style hands.
The Hi-Metal R also includes mecha from Fang of the Sun Dougram, Techno Police 21C, and Combat Mecha Xabungle. This article covers only the Macross releases.
