Meltrandi (メルトランディ Merutorandi), also referred to as Meltran, are female Zentradi created by the Protoculture. This concept was introduced in the film The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? and was originally in the television series. They were also featured in the Macross 7: Encore OVA.

The Meltrandi are a race of female giants, artificially created and bred for war by the Protoculture. They are the sworn enemy of the Zentradi having fought them for over a millenia, and are led by the tyrannical Moruk Lap Lamiz who feared "cultural contamination" from the humans. Milia Fallyna Jenius served as one of her top ace pilots. She would pilot her red Queadluun-Rau to conduct raids against the Zentran fleet to weaken their defenses.
They were ultimately defeated by Golg Boddole Zer when he fired upon their fleet with his ship's main cannon.
The concept of Meltrandi would later return in Macross 7: Encore OVA for the episode "Fleet of the Strongest Women" where the Meltrans face off against Basara Nekki. In the end, however, they were "defeated" when all of them became infatuated with Basara's song, rendering them unable to fight.
In Macross Frontier, the Meltrandi (and Zentradi as well) were mainly represented by the members of Pixie Team, an all-Meltrandi S.M.S. unit composed of team leader Klan Klang, Nene Rora, and Lalamia Lelenia.
