Welcome to the interface administrators' noticeboard

This is the interface administrator noticeboard, for discussion of interface administrators and coordination of edits to the interface.

Currently only interface administrators can undelete JS/CSS pages, if you have an uncontroversial undelete or deleted version retrieval request, please list it below.

Any administrator can delete JS/CSS/JSON pages, for speedy deletions just use a CSD template on the page or its talk page.

Individual requests for edits to interface or user JavaScript/CSS pages should continue to be made on their respective talk pages.

    User .js pages needing edits

Not done @UnitedStatesian: what exactly is wrong on those pages? What are they hurting, and why not fix it somewhere else? (e.g. don't populate that category from pages not in wikitext mode). — xaosflux Talk 20:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Xaosflux: Happy to do that; what code would I use in the category to prevent populating the category from pages not in wikitext mode? UnitedStatesian (talk) 21:21, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why? It looks like it was placed there on purpose. — xaosflux Talk 20:30, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, all 3 of these editors appear to be active, have you discussed changes to their scripts with them already? — xaosflux Talk 20:31, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have not; I was advised it was best to handle it centrally here, as per prior practice, such as Wikipedia:Interface administrators' noticeboard/Archive 2#Edit to a user JS page to clear a category. UnitedStatesian (talk) 21:21, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Generally speaking, the best practice is to contact the editor first before coming to intadmins. (The thread you link to refers to the fact that The user hasn't edited Wikipedia in six years so can someone with access sort out the changeover please?) Indeed, I should have realized that when filing Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2021 September 10#Category:Categories populated by user script code, but it somehow slipped by mind (probably because most cases where there is a category being updated involve inactive users). That said, nothing I can see distinguishes the Category:Pages with templates in the wrong namespace part of this request from /Archive 2#Special:WantedTemplates, in which user scripts of active users were edited in order to remove them from maintenance lists of some sort. You do have a point about Category:Wikipedia Scripts having been intentionally added (which both UnitedStatesian and I appear to have missed), but again I see no reason that category maintenance should be forced to proceed differently because the page involved is a user script. But this last argument is applying similar reasoning to what got me criticized for abusing my template editor access at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive320#Creation request, so maybe my vision for process uniformity does not enjoy consensus ... * Pppery * it has begun... 17:43, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
