The heart is a muscular organ in most animals. This organ pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system.[1] The pumped blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the body, while carrying metabolic waste such as carbon dioxide to the lungs.[2] In humans, the heart is approximately the size of a closed fist and is located between the lungs, in the middle compartment of the chest, called the mediastinum.[3]he heart is a muscular organ in most animals. - Not done. @Willing student there is a mention of mediastinum already in the lead as middle compartment of the chest. The middle compatment links to the mediastinum. This is done so that people who are not associated with medical subjects can ger an overview of the subject without making it too technical. So, there is no need to change it. Feel free to contact me if you need any help. Thankyou signed, 511KeV (talk) 17:46, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- Omg thank you so much this helped me in my science examination 🧐 Laughtee103 (talk) 13:32, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
Biography
The protection icon in the top right displays a tooltip "This article is semi-protected to promote compliance with the policy on biographies of living persons". This is not a biography of a living person, why is the protection template used? --51.6.166.33 (talk) 08:12, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
3d model
File:Vh-m-heart.stl It would be very nice to have 3D model of the heart, so that people can explore it from thier prefered angle; I uploaded this one. But it was not accepted what would need to be changed/updated about the model before it would be acceptable for the article? then we can also update the model at List of organs of the human body Claes Lindhardt (talk) 09:18, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
most animals?
"The heart is a muscular organ found in most animals."
As far as I know, arthropods don't have blood vessels and don't have a heart.

- An underexplained edit from 2017 is the culprit there. I've reverted. Ugh, Remsense ‥ 论 12:42, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you as well! Sometimes questions as important as that one just don't get asked by editors who don't notice, no matter how astute they are. Remsense ‥ 论 12:58, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
