Component in hops

[edit]

Being a non-native speaker I may be wrong, but in my understanding current wording in the article ("identified as a component of hops") can also suggest that 3-methyl-2-pentanol is present in hops in its pure form. However, based on the article cited its derivatives are the actual components, as 3-methyl-2-pentanol results from hydrolysis with β-glucosidase. I wonder whether the wording "identified as an aglycone in hops" or "identified as a component (aglycone) of hops" would be more appropriate. Szaszicska (talk) 10:39, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
