Hi, CJS.  I highly recommend you withdraw your self-nomination for adminship.  With less than 150 edits, you are almost certainly going to be opposed by most (if not all) of the voters who frequent the Requests for adminship forum.  I recommend editing Wikipedia and getting some more experience for a while before you re-apply.  Generally, 1000 edits is seen as a bare minimum, and you are probably better off waiting until you have about 3000.  In addition, a lot of voters like to see the use of edit summaries when you're editing pages; that way people looking through their Watchlists or the page history can easily see what your edit was about.  Also, the things you said you wanted to do as an admin, such as reverting vandalism and getting rid of POVs, can be done with your current editing privileges. As you might know, all the [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members|Esperanzians]] share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Charter|Charter]], the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/So you've joined Esperanza...|guide to what to do now]] or you may be interested in some of our [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Programs|programs]]. A quite important program is the [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/StressUnit|StressUnit]], which seeks to support [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Alerts|editors who have encountered any stress]] from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. [[User:Redwolf24|Redwolf24]] runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Calendar|calendar]] of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at [[Wikipedia:Esperanza/Possibles|Esperanza/Possibles]]. 

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, [[User:Celestianpower|Celestianpower]], and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of [[User:FireFox|FireFox]], [[User:Flcelloguy|Flcelloguy]], [[User:Titoxd|Titoxd]], and [[User:Karmafist|Karmafist]]. As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on [[WT:ESP|the ''Esperanza'' talk page]] as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace [[User:JoanneB|JoanneB]] and [[User:Pschemp|Pschemp]] and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on [[2006-07-02]] and last until [[2006-07-09]]. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before [[2006-07-02]]. :Thanks for your response Chaz; I agree to an extent with you on the issue of abortion.  I personally find the act of abortion to be immoral, however, in the 1950s one of the leading causes of death for women was from injuries received during illegal abortions.  And yet, while it was illegal, the number of abortions were at the same rate as they are now, the only difference being that these days abortions can be safely performed without risking the life of the mother.  So my opinion is that abortions will happen whether they are legal or not, but since they will happen they ought to be safe and legal.  But I do agree that abortion is not a good thing.  I also have a certain amount of respect for John McCain, but he has turned out to be more of a political opportunist than I would have thought.  Nice talking to you; all the best. Apart from the usual vandals, there is an ongoing problem with Wikipedia editors deleting free and fair-use photos because they don't think they are of any value to articles, even though this sometimes leaves articles with no photos at all. These editors do not leave notes on talk pages, so if you see that a photo has vanished, check the talk page and the history log.

It's been a while, but the newsletter's back!  After a short discussion on [[WT:TB|the project talk page]], seemingly unanimous consensus to bring it back was reached.  This issue, and subsequent ones, will probably be shorter - as we kept running out of things to say before!  There's a lot to say this month, purely due to the long absence of a newsletter, but we'll keep it as brief as possible.

In order to get delivery by [[User:Denbot|Denbot]] sorted, the special delivery interface has been changed slightly - ''but existing delivery options still stand''.  Inactive participants who want delivery should place their names on [[WP:WikiProject The Beatles/Outreach/Delivery|this list]].

Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a [[Wikipedia:Wadewitz Tribute Edit-a-thons|worldwide series of tributes]], New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:
