Plot
At the Pokémon Center, Marnie tells Gloria and Leon about an idea of hers—if she were to become popular on Pasio, it might inspire people to learn more about her hometown, Spikemuth. Gloria and Leon suggest that Marnie should battle a bunch of sync pairs from Galar to get fans. The three leave, and Piers enters, having just witnessed the conversation. He turns to the player and asks that they help Marnie with her plan.
After the battles take place, Marnie, Gloria, Leon, and the player meet back at the Pokémon Center. Leon expresses excitement that Trainers are working together to become strong enough to try to defeat him. As Marnie wonders if Leon's wish for teamwork among Trainers causes people to cheer for him, Piers enters. He tells Marnie that Trainers cheer for her because of her passion to support her hometown. Marnie is delighted, vowing to work together with her friends to become stronger so that her dream of helping Spikemuth can come true.

Marnie | If I do my best here on Pasio... |
Marnie | and if I battle a lot here...it might help us put Spikemuth an' Galar on the map! So, <player>, help me with something for a sec. |
- Fame and Glory
Name | Text |
---|---|
Gloria | What's wrong, Marnie? Something on your mind? |
Marnie | Yeah... You know how there are a lot of sync pairs on Pasio? I was thinking that if I became famous here, it would help get people to know Spikemuth better. |
Gloria | *chuckle* You always go all-out when it comes to your hometown, don't you. In that case, I might have an idea for you! Why not challenge a bunch of sync pairs to some Pokémon battles? Say you battle a thousand sync pairs. You might get a thousand fans while you're at it! |
Marnie | Would it really be that easy, though? |
Leon | Even the smallest sparks of passion can fire up a large blaze! Let's do it! Let's round up all of the sync pairs from the Galar region and get Pasio all fired up! |
Marnie | All the sync pairs from Galar? That ups the scale quite a bit. |
Marnie | But...I guess it might not be bad to be Marnie, the Galar representative from Spikemuth! |
Piers | So she's doing this for Spikemuth, huh? I'm not really a good Gym Leader... I s'ppose that makes it hard on her. <player>, would you be willing to help Marnie out? Consider it cheering her on. |
- Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Marnie | I hope we were able to show everyone just how great Galar an' Spikemuth are. |
Leon | This is just the beginning! I'm sure the other sync pairs got excited after seeing us show off our strength. They'll be training even more to come after us! I imagine we'll be getting some calls for rematches in the near future! It's so exciting! My wish is for Trainers to work together to become as strong as they can be! |
Marnie | Working together... That must be why the Champion's battles can get everyone so heated up! |
Piers | It's the same for you, Sis. |
Piers | You keep giving it your all for our hometown. That's why everyone cheers for you so passionately. |
Marnie | I also wanna give 'em all the results they're cheering for! I'll keep working on getting stronger together with everyone. If we all work together, I know we can make our dreams come true! |
Trivia
- The four sync pairs that received a 1.6× reward bonus in this event were the only four Galar sync pairs in the game at the time of its first run.
- The sprite used for the event vouchers in the reruns of this event was slightly different from the one used in the first run, with the rerun vouchers using the larger and more detailed "super voucher" sprite.
