Badge Check Gates
The Badge Check Gates are located in the northeast of this route. These gates lead to Victory Road. Each gate has something to do with the type specialized in by that Badge's Gym, which can be accessed after obtaining the corresponding Badge.
Different tracks are added to the background theme one by one as the player progresses through the Badge Check Gates, resulting in the complete Victory Road theme once the player arrives there.

The Trio Badge Gate is composed of features that represent the three types used by Cilan, Chili, and Cress. Respectively, they are: shrubs, small trees, flowers, and grass; two burning torches on the north side of the stream; a small stream which cannot be surfed on or fished in flowing through the center of the area, with a bridge crossing it. There are also two restaurant tables on the south side of the river.

This is the only gate where wild Pokémon can be encountered; these Pokémon are the same as those found in the rest of Route 10. There are three poles connected via red velvet rope, similar to what is seen in museums. There are pieces of what appear to be ancient stone ruins.
It adds a timpani track to the background music.

The Badge Check Gates in Pokémon Adventures
Route 10 first appeared in Dream a Little Dream, where the Trainers who had earned eight Badges went through the Badge Check Gates a day before the first part of the Pokémon League tournament would begin at Victory Road. Black, who had failed to earn his eighth Badge yet, and was also depressed about his Munna leaving him, was ready to give up, but seeing his team, which shared his passionate dream of beating the Champion, he regained his passion and sought out Drayden at the Badge Check Gates. Since the deadline for earning eight Badges would technically only close when the League tournament itself began, Black demanded to battle Drayden for his Badge, which he accepted.
In Hallway Hijinks, Black and Drayden had their battle in a corridor reserved for the event staff. Due to Drayden's Druddigon being used to moving around in narrow caves, it had the advantage over Black's Braviary in the similarly narrow corridor. When Braviary was on the brink of defeat, Black once again considered giving up. Unexpectedly, Elite Four member Caitlin suddenly burst in and had her Gothitelle mentally connect Black with the Gym Leaders that had been captured by Team Plasma. Thanks to their words of encouragement, Black regained his motivation and had Braviary use Air Slash on a door leading outside, blasting it open and letting in a gust of cold air that weakened Druddigon enough for Braviary to defeat it. As agreed, Drayden rewarded Black of his victory with the Legend Badge, allowing him to compete in the Pokémon League tournament.
In Something Suspicious, Marlon revealed to White that the Hood Man wasn't carrying the scent of the river flowing through the Trio Badge Gate, confirming that he had sneaked into the competition without the required eight Badges.
