Princess Festival
The Princess Festival (Japanese: ポケモンひなまつり Pokémon Girls' Festival) is a holiday celebrated annually throughout the Kanto region on March 3 (the date is not stated in the dub). It is the equivalent of the real-world Japanese holiday Hinamatsuri.
Like in the real world, it is traditional for girls to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Heian period. It is commemorated by various events, activities, and sales geared towards women. During the Princess Festival, there are drastic discounts at stores and restaurants for women only.
The Princess Festival was featured in Princess vs. Princess. While visiting O-Hina Town, Misty and Jessie reminisced about past Princess Festivals and entered the annual Queen of the Princess Festival, a competition where the winner receives a special collection of Pokémon dolls.
