Blurb
Two Charcadet have been inseparable since they were young.
One day, the mischievous Charcadet encounters a boy and, after losing a battle to him, decides to follow the boy to grow stronger.
Meanwhile, the quiet Charcadet is left behind, living a lonely and solitary life.
They once believed they would always stay together...
Will their separate journeys eventually bring them back to one another?
This is a heartfelt and bittersweet tale about Charcadet!
Plot
Across the rooftops of Mesagoza, an Armarouge and a Shiny Ceruledge stared down at each other, appearing to be worn down by a raging battle. As they jumped toward in order to clash, the scenery changed, flashing back to an earlier time in their lives.
As Charcadet, the two friends attempted to gather Sitrus Berries from a tree but couldn’t reach the branches. Driven by hunger, the regular-colored Charcadet spotted a human passing by and took the chance to snatch a sandwich from the man’s backpack, startling him before darting away. The shiny Charcadet, too timid to participate, watched quietly from a distance. Eventually, hunger overcame its hesitation, and it joined the regular-colored Charcadet to share the meal.
After finishing the sandwich, the two Charcadet lay on the grass, content for the moment. However, when the regular-colored Charcadet’s stomach growled once again, they couldn’t help but laugh together at the situation.
Some time later, the two Charcadet was racing in West Province (Area Three). Once the Shiny one reached their improvised finish line, a simple rock, it accidentally activated a Rotom Phone that had been forgotten there. The device flew into the regular-colored Charcadet's face and begun to show clips of a recent battle tournament held in Mesagoza. The little Pokémon was captivated by what it was watching, so much so it didn't even notice as the owner of the Rotom Phone, Yūto, approached it. He challenged Charcadet to a quick battle: if he won, he would take back his phone, and that was what happened. Seeing his friend being attacked, the Shiny Charcadet managed to reach up into a nearby tree and pick up a Sitrus Berry, but it was too late: its friend was already walking away with the Trainer.
Now one of Yūto's Pokémon, Charcadet watched its Trainer battle against Gym Leader Kofu. At one point, however, it was unable to contain itself and interfered in their battle, launching an Ember at Kofu's Crabominable without any warning. In retaliation, the Woolly Crab Pokémon quickly defeated it with a single Crabhammer. Yūto, contrary to what Charcadet expected, was not mad, instead recognizing its strengths and vowing to hone them. Then, they battled left and right, even scoring a catch in Rufflet at the Asado Desert, until Charcadet was able to defeat Yūto's Breloom. He then took Charcadet to a room of his house where an Auspicious Armor was kept and told it about a legend involving Charcadet. The Fire Child Pokémon, compelled by the armor, touched it and evolved into Armarouge.
On the other hand, the shiny Charcadet tirelessly searched for its friend, often coming heartbreakingly close but never reuniting. After countless failed attempts, it finally gave up the search and sought refuge in an abandoned building. Within the desolate space, it discovered a Malicious Armor and a painted glass depicting Charcadet and their evolutions—though the section portraying Ceruledge was shattered, symbolizing its fractured path. The Shiny Charcadet settled into a life of quiet sorrow, haunted by the loss of its companion and the lingering memories of what once was.
One fateful day, while carrying food back to its hideout, the shiny Charcadet was ambushed by wild Bronzor that stole its meal. Moments later, a Gengar attacked, leaving it battered and on the verge of defeat. Overwhelmed with despair and consumed by the bitterness of being left behind, the shiny Charcadet found resolve in its anger. Fueled by this grudge, it evolved into Ceruledge with dark aura, harnessing newfound power to triumph over Gengar.
After its evolution, Ceruledge sensed the distinct aura of Armarouge, its former friend, and realized it was time for a long-awaited confrontation. Driven by its lingering emotions, Ceruledge made its way to Mesagoza, slipping through the bustling crowds and heading to the center of the stadium to await Armarouge's arrival.
Before Yūto's match at the tournament could start, the crowd noticed the arrival of Ceruledge, who immediately lunged at Armarouge. The Fire Warrior Pokémon launched attack after attack at its opponent, but it seemed to know Armarouge's style, which made it finally recognize who was attacking it.
Ceruledge, driven by sharp instincts and a grudge-fueled resolve, taunted Armarouge and lured it to the rooftop of Mesagoza for their final showdown. As their intense battle unfolded, Armarouge began to notice Ceruledge's uncanny ability to predict its moves with precision. This realization triggered a flood of memories, leading Armarouge to recognize Ceruledge as its long-lost companion—the shiny Charcadet from their shared past.
The tension between the two former friends reached its peak, setting the stage for a final, emotional confrontation atop the city's rooftops. They continued to clash until Ceruledge was unable to keep battling.
In that moment, the dark aura surrounding Ceruledge disappeared, symbolizing that its grudge against Armarouge had finally been resolved. When Ceruledge regained consciousness, it turned to see Armarouge lying on the floor, mimicking a playful pose from their time as Charcadet. The sight sparked a moment of laughter and warmth, marking a heartfelt reunion between the two. Despite Yūto's offer to join his team, Ceruledge declined. However, seeing Armarouge thriving and happy gave Ceruledge peace of mind, then properly said their goodbyes, bringing closure to both of them as they followed different paths.
Ultimately, Ceruledge chose to stay at the abandoned building it once called home, then embarked on a journey alongside Gengar and other Pokémon it encountered.

Trivia
- This episode was originally supposed to be released on November 6th,[1] but was delayed.[2]
- The Shiny Charcadet's battle and Evolution against Gengar references a passage from the Charcadet's Adventures book found in the library of Naranja AcademyS/Uva AcademyV, which Yūto also reads to his Charcadet. This short may be taken as the continuation of that story, where Charcadet ultimately selects an armor and uses its strength to defeat the Gengar that once tormented it.
