Acquisition

Generation VII

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, the player receives all the memory drives from Gladion at Aether Paradise after receiving a Type: Null from him during the post-game. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, due to Gladion having temporarily left Alola during the post-game, Type: Null and the memories are instead obtained from Wicke at Ancient Poni Path.

Generation VIII

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, the memory drives are obtained from a League Staff member at the Battle Tower lobby, after receiving a Type: Null from her.

Pokémon the Series

In Pokémon the Series, Memories are regularly used by Gladion in order to give his Silvally a type advantage over its opponents during battles or otherwise give it benefits outside of battles, such as when he turned Silvally into a Steel type to allow it to cross the poison lake Nihilego had created without taking any damage.

Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon

Gladion has been shown using the following Memories:

A Rock Memory appeared in Destroy!! Results of the Training!, where Moon chose to insert it into the RKS System of Gladion's Silvally in order to more effectively battle against Ryuki's Turtonator.

In the TCG

Memories in the Pokémon Trading Card Game are depicted as Pokémon Tool cards. The first two were printed in the Crimson Invasion set, and others were printed during the Sun & Moon Series. When a Memory is attached to a Pokémon named Silvally-GX, it changes that Silvally's type to the type that the Memory corresponds to. (The Electric Memory makes Silvally a Lightning type.)
