Plot

After interviewing people around Olivine City, the Rising Volt Tacklers have gathered a comprehensive map of reported Entei sightings, the most recent of which have occurred around an archipelago off the coast. The first island they arrive to investigate has no Pokémon on it at all. Dot wonders if this could be a sign of an imminent volcanic eruption, but Friede calms the children down, examining a rock and finding no telltale signs of volcanic activity. Friede receives a call from Murdock, and the team gathers to see a beached Huntail that Ludlow found. While Mollie treats Huntail and takes it back into the sea, everyone wonders why a Pokémon that normally lives on the seabed would be beached on a shore. When Dot suggests that it might've been fleeing from something, Friede gets an idea. Reboarding the Brave Olivine, he takes them to the site of a submarine volcano, reasoning that Entei, being a Pokémon heavily associated with volcanoes, will eventually show up here.

The wait stretches deep into the night. Just as Murdock brings Friede and Captain Pikachu some coffee to stay awake, a loud roar echoes across the archipelago, waking up the sleeping members of the crew and making them rush to the bridge. Seeing schools of Pokémon fleeing from the area, Friede hurriedly tells Murdock to turn the airship away, getting out of the way just in time as the submarine volcano erupts. Soon, a new island stands in the place of the formerly submarine volcano. Seeing the eruption as a sign of Entei's presence, Friede has Murdock land the airship on a neighboring island, where Liko, Roy, Dot, and Friede disembark it. No sooner has Friede sent his Charizard off to guard the airship that Entei appears on a nearby clifftop. The group tries calling out to it, but only receive fierce roars in response. Seeing that Entei is not in the mood to hear them out, they decide to prove their strength to it first. Accepting their challenge, Entei leaps down to face them.

Since Entei is a Fire-type Pokémon, the group decides to use Quaxwell's Water moves and Crocalor's Ground move to attack, while Floragato and Cap provide openings for them by distracting Entei. While the Paldea first partner Pokémon get briefly intimidated by the Pressure that Entei exudes, Cap keeps moving forward, though his Thunder Punch is easily dodged, and Cap himself is forced to dodge an incoming Sacred Fire. Not wanting to leave everyone vulnerable to Entei's flames by sticking together, Friede tells everyone to scatter around it. While Floragato blinds Entei with Magical Leaf, Quaxwell and Crocalor try to attack with Water Gun and Stomping Tantrum, but Entei dodges both attacks and counters Cap's Thunder Punch with Fire Fang. Cap provides a distraction with Double Team, allowing Floragato and Quaxwell to hit Entei with Quick Attack and Liquidation, but the Legendary Pokémon takes the hits without as much as flinching. Crocalor tries to attack next with Stomping Tantrum, only to find himself immobilized by Entei's Extrasensory and on the receiving end of a Sacred Fire attack. At the last second, however, Cap pushes Crocalor out of the way, taking the hit with his own body and suffering a burn as a result. Despite this, though, Cap is still able to keep going and uses Double Team again. However, all the Double Team clones are quickly dispatched by Entei's Eruption, which also threatens the other Pokémon. Quaxwell protects Floragato from the falling foaming rocks, only for both of them to be struck by Sacred Fire. Cap, still standing, follows up with Volt Tackle, despite the move's risks. Although Quaxwell and Floragato are able to stop Entei's next Sacred Fire and allow Cap's attack to land, Entei still remains unflinching at everything that's being thrown at it. Roy is up next, telling Crocalor to use Stomping Tantrum. While uncertain at first against the overwhelming odds, Crocalor gains confidence from Cap's own determination and starts to attack, even pushing through another Extrasensory. When the first uses of Stomping Tantrum are dodged, the move's power grows stronger, and Crocalor is able to land the supereffective hit, finally making Entei flinch.

Glancing at its adversaries, Entei nods its head, seeming to finally give the Trainers its approval. With Entei calmed down, Liko and Pagogo approach it, requesting it to join them and the rest of the Six Heroes so they can reach Laqua. Entei, however, remains unresponsive, to everyone's confusion. Moreover, unlike with every other hero Pokémon, Pagogo isn't resonating with Entei, nor are the Six Heroes on Lucius's belt reacting in any way. Instead of displaying any sort of interest on Pagogo, Entei turns its gaze at newborn island in the distance. A sudden lightning bolt strikes down on the volcanic island, making Raikou appear, while a shimmering aurora in the sky heralds the arrival of Suicune. Entei leaps over the sea between the islands to join its brethren, making the group awestruck at getting to witness all three of the Legendary beasts gathering in one place. As the morning sun starts rising over the horizon, the three Legendary Pokémon scatter and disappear as suddenly as they had appeared. Aboard the Brave Olivine, the group comes to realize that this Entei wasn't the one from the Six Heroes, after all, but they're still happy to have gotten to witness what they saw. Looking down at the newborn island, Liko speculates that the Legendary beasts had gathered to celebrate its birth.

In Levincia, Amethio is visiting Cervantes's office at Exceed, requesting for any information he has about Laquium. Without even making eye contact with him, Cervantes informs him that Chairman Gibeon has all the data about it. Solemnly accepting this, Amethio leaves the office. Moments later, Spinel enters the room. He comments on how much of handful Cervantes's son can be to him at his age, which Cervantes can't help but agree with.

Aboard the Brave Olivine, the Rising Volt Tacklers receive an unexpected call from Briar, who informs them that an Entei, possibly the one they're looking for, has been sighted within Area Zero. She shows them a picture of a page from the Scarlet Book, displaying a sketch of a Pokémon that bears some resemblance to Entei and was supposedly sighted within Area Zero. For her second piece of evidence, she shows them a brief clip from surveillance camera footage recorded within Area Zero, where a Pokémon resembling Entei is very briefly seen moving past. Excited at the possibility of finally receiving Geeta's permission for her investigation into Area Zero, Briar wishes to see everyone back in Paldea and ends the call. With this new lead on their side, the Rising Volt Tacklers set the course back for Paldea in the hopes of finding Entei of the Six Heroes within the Great Crater of Paldea.
