Ellie is a major character in the Ice Age franchise. She is Manny's wife, Peaches's mother, and Crash and Eddie's adoptive sister.
She is the deuteragonist of Ice Age: The Meltdown, the tritagonist in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, a major character in Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade and The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, and a supporting character in Ice Age: Collision Course.
In the films, she is voiced by Queen Latifah.
