This article is about the the Elvish way of using Cirth. For the the Dwarvish way, see Angerthas. |
Angerthas Daeron or Daeron's Runes were invented by King Thingol's minstrel and loremaster Daeron sometime during the early First Age in Menegroth. By his own people, Angerthas Daeron were considered to be fairly simple. However, the Dwarves held Daeron to be a genius and adopted his invention of the Cirth and passed it down through the ages, most notably in Moria, but also at the Lonely Mountain.
Etymology[]
Angerthas Daeron was Sindarin for Daeron's Runes.
