Ben: "This is where I came from. These are my people. The DHARMA Initiative. They came here seeking harmony but they couldn't even co-exist with the Island's inhabitants. When it became clear that one side had to go — that one side had to be purged — I did what I had to do. I was one of the people who was smart enough to make sure I didn't end up in that ditch. Which makes me considerably smarter than you, John."

Recruits[]
A section about the people I have convinced to watch Lost. I will use confidential names.
My friend Bill from school was the first person I convinced. He has finished the series. His favorite character is John Locke (good choice). He didn't like "The End". I didn't watch it with him, so I don't have a lot of info on what else he thought about the show.
My friend Bob from school was the second person I convinced. He has also finished the series. I only watched the sixth season with him, because he couldn't get it on Netflix at his house. His favorite character is Sayid. He was upset during "LAX" when he thought he was dead, but was happy by the end of the episode. He says his favorite season is season 5 (my least favorite, I think). He liked "The End"
My friend Jim from school was the third person I convinced. He is in the middle of "Ab Aeterno". His favorite character is Daniel, but his favorite living character is Ben. He claims Ben is doing what is in the best interest of the island (which I don't know if I agree with or not). Notable characters he likes are Ana Lucia, Eko, and Sayid. He seems to be good at predicting things. He found out Anthony Cooper was Sawyer before James killed him. He also found out Pierre was Miles' father, and Widmore was Daniel's father, before he was supposed to. He said he knew the jughead would come back into play as an important piece after he watched "Jughead" and said he knew Rose and Bernard would be reappearing very shortly after we watched "Follow the Leader". He hated Charlie, so his death unaffected him. I think the episode that has affected him the most is "The Variable" when Daniel died. He also seemed mad (not sad) at the deaths of Danielle and the part where we find Locke in the coffin.
My grandparents (though unintentional on my behalf) were convinced by me to start watching Lost. They had come over one night, saw a little bit of an episode on my TV, mentioned something about having watched the pilot episode when it aired on TV, and now, a few months later, they have just finished the series. I have watched most of it with them. My grandma and grandpa liked Sawyer from Seasons 1-4, when he is sarcastic and likes giving people a hard time. Now that he has assumed a leadership position, their new favorite character is Miles, the guy who filled old Sawyer's shoes to a certain degree. The funny thing is when I watch it with them, they often stay awake longer than I do. I wake back up on the couch in the wee hours of the morning, and they're still sitting there watching. My grandpa liked "The End", while my grandma hated it.
The final person I have convinced to watch was my brother. He just finished "The Incident". His favorite characters are Richard, Desmond, and Jin. He doesn't talk about what he likes and dislikes about the show often, so I don't know exactly what he thinks of it. One comment I remember from him was, during "Live Together Die Alone", "This show is amazing" or something along those lines. I think he said it right after Desmond said "I think I crashed your plane!" After season 3, he started getting more into it, watching most of season 4 in one night. He was ecstatic when Jin was revealed to be alive, but disturbed by Daniel's death and Juliet's falling into the hole.
