Tim Simonec is the conductor of the musical score of Lost. He has worked on many other projects with Michael Giacchino, including Alias, Mission Impossible III, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille. He is also an orchestrator and composer. In 2007, Simonec conducted the Honolulu Symphony with Michael Giacchino at the world premiere of The Lost Symphony.
Illness and the "miracle"[]
According to his official website, Tim's health problems have coincidental (but striking) similarities to Rose and Ben's cancers and Locke's paralysis. In 1984, a tumor was discovered on his spine and the operation to remove it left him a quadriplegic and he was told that he'd never walk again. Despite this, Tim is now able to walk and has regained partial use of his hands. This recovery, (which he puts down to his faith) is considered by many to be a miracle, as 'walking quadriplegics' are around a 1 in 1000 phenomenon.
