Eugene Poddany (23 December 1919 - 10 March 1984) was a Chinese-American composer. He is most notable for composing music during Chuck Jones's tenure at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, such as the Tom and Jerry cartoons from 1963 to 1967, The Dot and the Line, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!
Poddany would score five cartoons from 1951 when Carl W. Stalling underwent brain surgery and was taken a month break for recovery; all of the cartoons he composed were given Blue Ribbon reissues.[1] Poddany would pass away on 10 March 1984 following a murder-suicide attempt.[2]
