Bill scott

William John "Bill" Scott (2 August 1920 – 29 November 1985) was an American voice actor, writer and producer for animated cartoons. He is better known for writing and co-producing Rocky and Bullwinkle and voicing Bullwinkle.

Career[]

Scott served as a writer alongside Lloyd Turner while working under director Arthur Davis. He was later fired[1] and went to serve as a writer for the Jerry Fairbanks produced Speaking of Animals films[2] and for Bob Clampett's Time for Beany which reunited him with Turner.[3] In the 1950s, Scott went to work for UPA and helped adapt the story "Gerald McBoing-Boing" which won an Academy Award and also the animated adaptation of "The Tell-Tale Heart".

Later Career[]

In 1985, a few months before Scott died, he was the voice of Moosel and other characters for Disney's The Wuzzles and Gruffi Gummi, Sir Tuxford, and Toadwart in The Adventures of the Gummi Bears, another Disney cartoon. However, Scott died while the cartoons were in circulation and this led to the cancellation of the former and the latter had his roles recast with voice actors Corey Burton, Roger C. Carmel, and Brian Cummings.
