The Lion King 1½[]

When Timon and Pumbaa wake up in the jungle paradise, Pumbaa reminds Timon that this is the place he had been mentioning, but Timon, misunderstanding Pumbaa, declares that the jungle is better than whatever place Pumbaa had been envisioning as their dream home, showing different aspects of it including the hot spring. The friends proceed to settle into their new home.

One day, after Timon and Pumbaa met and raised Simba, who is now a young adult, the three friends relax in the hot spring, commenting on their carefree lifestyle. Pumbaa then climbs out of the tub feeling tired, and the bubbles suddenly stop. Realizing that Pumbaa was responsible for the bubbles, Timon and Simba flee the hot spring in disgust.

Later, after Nala informed Timon and Pumbaa that Simba returned to Pride Rock to challenge his uncle Scar for his rightful place as king and departed to offer her help, Pumbaa is in favor of helping Simba while Timon refuses to leave, accusing his friends of betrayal as he believes that they are willingly leaving their philosophy behind in favor of Simba's throne. Timon then basks in his newfound independence. However, as he visits his and his friends' old haunts, including the hot springs, he begins to lose his enthusiasm and self-assuredness, until Rafiki approaches and helps him realize that Hakuna Matata is not the same without his friends.
