Student Employment in the Libraries

The University of Washington Libraries employ UW students on an hourly basis in positions that are both challenging and responsible. The Libraries offer flexible work schedules, for both the Academic Year and Summer Quarter, at many convenient locations on our Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma campuses. Student employees at the UW Libraries may apply for Libraries Student Employee Scholarships of $1,000 each.

To apply, read the job details carefully and follow the application instructions.

Current openings

Seattle and Tacoma campus student job openings are listed on the UW Libraries jobs page. For information about Bothell jobs, see the Bothell Campus Employment page. Positions open throughout the year, most frequently before and after quarter breaks; applications are only taken for open positions.

International, DACA, and undocumented students.

The Libraries are committed to the success of international, DACA, and undocumented students. We welcome employment applications from students with an F1 or J1 visa, or DACA or other work authorization. International students new to applying to U.S. jobs are encouraged to make use of resume resources (see below) to learn how expectations may differ (for example, including a photo of yourself is routine in some countries, but generally discouraged in the U.S.) International students without a Social Security card will receive information about getting a card at the time of hire.

All of our jobs are Work Study eligible and may give preference to applicants with a Work Study award. All students are encouraged to apply. If you receive financial aid and have questions about Work Study, contact Work Study Administration.
