Mandy the Mechanic[1][2] is a Town Race minifigure introduced in 1996.
Description[]
Mandy the Mechanic wears an entirely bright blue Octan uniform, with a printed torso featuring the Octan logo and "OIL", and a Mini U.S. Cap. Her head is printed with a smiling face and black eyebrows.
Although not present on her physical minifigure, The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac depicts Mandy wearing red lipstick, giving her a more feminine appearance. She also has her name written on the front and back of her torso.[3]
On the boxart of 6335 Indy Transport, Mandy the Mechanic is shown wearing a bright blue Mini Crash Helmet with a transparent light blue Mini Visor 2, printed with red stripes and white stars. This helmet is usually worn by Indy LeMans; incidentally, Indy's depiction in The Adventures of the LEGO Maniac more resembles Mandy's appearance on the 6335 boxart. A similar minifigure, wearing a bright yellow Life Jacket, is included in 6543 Sail N' Fly Marina.
Background[]
Mandy the Mechanic is the fastest builder in the pit stop and is highly skilled at repairs. However, she tends to throw tools while working and has to retrieve them later during the race; finding her lost tools serves as the premise of the "Find the Tools Contest". She relaxes by playing rock music, with her favorite instrument being the Gibson Flying V electric guitar.[1]
At the First Annual LEGO Land And Sea Race O Rama, Thresher is cheating his way to victory. In response, Mandy the Mechanic and the LEGO Maniac arrive in Mandy's Indy Transport and work together to upgrade Eddie Octane's Slick Racer with a supercharged over head cam and a V-12 engine with chrome exhaust, giving him the extra power needed to outrace Thresher.[3]
