High Octane Team,[1] commonly abbreviated as H.O.T., is a team in the Drome Racers theme.
Description[]
H.O.T. racecars are primarily bright yellow and bright orange. In the comics and storyline, H.O.T. racers wear red uniforms; H.O.T. figures in sets also wear bright orange, along with dark grey gloves and white or black helmets. While other H.O.T. figures wear generic helmets from Extreme Team and Race, one racer in 8364 Multi-Challenge Race Track bears the H.O.T. emblem on his helmet and racecar: a flaming letter "O".
Background[]
H.O.T. is known for being loud and destructive, both in the pits and on-track, with their racing strategy amounting to powering through any obstacle in their path. Their lead driver is Exocet/Exceta; their chief mechanic is Alternator; their junior mechanic is Foil; and their test driver is Spinnit.
LEGO.com description[]

Lead Driver: Exocet Chief Mechanic: Alternator Cars: Tuneable Racer; H.O.T. Blaster Bike; Hot Scorcher You cannot miss the H.O.T. pit - piles and piles of engine parts, equipment, wiring, fenders, and tires, all scattered haphazardly. Loud industrial music fills the entire area, so that the team members have to shout to make themselves heard. They have no problem being heard on the track, however - that crashing sound is Exocet plowing through another gate, fence, boulder, wall, etc. Team Members Exocet (Driver): A large man, it is amazing to many that Exocet can even manage to squeeze himself into a car. Once he is behind the wheel, he does not believe in driving around obstacles - he simply rams his car right through them. This explains why H.O.T. does so well in so many races... also why their mechanic is always so busy. Foil (Driver/Junior Mechanic): Around the pits, Foil is called a "junk rat." He is always gathering spare parts and trying to build a new and better car for himself. His last effort involved using left-over EXO Force parts in a H.O.T. car... this resulted in a prolonged stay in the Drome medical facility. Spinnit (Test Driver): It is Spinnit's job to make sure H.O.T. cars run smoothly and efficiently. A test driver is expected to "push the envelope" of a car's capabilities - Spinnit believes in tearing up the envelope, stamping on the pieces, and then throwing them into the air. |
