Background[]

The Earth Driller is a vehicle that was built by Dr. Julien on the Island of Darkness for the ninja to use against the Stone Army. It was first used in the battle against the Stone Army on the Dark Island as well as to transport the main protagonists most of the way towards the Temple of Light before Kai's Fire Robot helped the group finish the journey to the top of the mountain, where the temple was located.

In "The Last Hope", it is used by Nya to rescue the ninja and Misako after they steal the Helmet of Shadows. They flee from the Stone Army's outpost, but the Power Drill is caught in the resulting chase by Lord Garmadon's robot. Lloyd, however, rescues the group and the Power Drill, and, when he is unable to bring himself to fight Garmadon, he escapes with the rest of the group in it and they head to the Celestial Clock, where they attempt to return the Helmet of Shadows in order to prevent the final battle.
