Background[]
During the prologue, Lord Vortech captures three sidekick characters from different worlds using rifts, he takes the Foundation Elements each of them were carrying, added them to his collection and trapped the three in his lair. When Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle arrive at Foundation Prime to rescue them, Vortech has all the Foundation Elements, revealing the Foundation of All Dimensions, which he uses to combine a piece of himself with the three heroes using Robin, Frodo, and MetalBeard's heads and bodies forming the Tri whichl he commands to collide the dimensions, beginning with The LEGO Movie World. Eventually, the heroes freed their friends from within the Tri and caused the rest of it to implode when the Vortech piece was struck.
Trivia[]
- The Tri are voiced by the in-game voices of Robin, Frodo, and MetalBeard: Scott Menville, Elijah Wood, and Nick Offerman.
- Out of the three, Frodo's voice isn't heard that much.
- Although it was assumed that the Tri are in fact a hypnotised fusion of the kidnapped characters, the characters are inside of their body, without any influence by Lord Vortech.
- They reference the Ghostbusters quote: "There is no Dana, only Zuul!"
- The piece of Vortech that was inside the Tri before it imploded was also the same piece that appeared in the post credits scene.
- The Tri's body is made of up pieces of its components. Metalbeard's left arm and leg, Robin's chest and right thigh, and Frodo's right arm, bare right foot and sword. It is unclear where the wings on its back come from
- Funnily enough, the sides with Metalbeard and Frodo's parts are on opposites sides from where their heads are
