Surrounded around the Shuriman Continent are several clans of Brackern, including clans in the Shuriman desert.

The Dormun are gigantic, slow-moving creatures protected with large chitinous plates covering their body. In the harsh conditions of Shurima they have evolved to survive the perpetual drought by utilizing an unknown sense to locate hidden reservoirs of water. Incidentally, certain nomadic tribes have built themselves a permanent home upon the backs of these beasts where they clean the creature and hunt any airborne pests who venture near.
Eka'Sul[]
Desert goats that travel in herds.
Mwatis[]
Mwatis are goatlike creatures with large plated casques on their heads. Mwati wool and plate are prised for felting and insulation.
Kmiros[]
Gigantic scarabs that roam in swarms, looking for unfortunate travelers to feed on. They seem to be common prey for Rammus.
Beside the Xer'Sai, other creatures from the Void, referred to as 'outerbeasts', can be found in the desert.
Xer'Sai: Creatures from the Void that plague the southern deserts. They are the size of big dogs on average, but can be smaller or much bigger. Rek'Sai, as the queen, is by far the largest and most dangerous of her species. Xer'sai burst from their small burrows and ravage anything nearby, to the detriment of desert caravans. Once dead, the Xer'sai decompose at an abnormally rapid rate and become inedible.

Large and aggressive minotaur-like creatures. They are humpbacked quadrupeds with long limbs and thick horns.
Shuriman Camel[]
A breed of camels native to the deserts of Shurima and are used by caravans as well as common folk as primary mode of transportation. Despite being well-suited for lengthy travels in the desert landscape, they are still prey to a many predator such as the Xer'Sai.
Sandswimmers[]
Sandswimmers are massive quadrupedal creatures that traverse the Shuriman desert in cyclical patterns. They got their name due to their preferred method of travel. Their narrow bodies and webbed feet are perfectly design for swimming under the sand. They feed on bugs and other small creatures most desert beasts ignore. Scavengers will often memorize the predictable paths these creatures take, and jump onto their backs to ride as far as they wish.

The Skallashi are large quadrupedal herbivores. These hardy beasts of burden are common across Shurima, ideally suited to the harsh desert environment. Their key body feature is their long legs. Notoriously bad-tempered, they are nevertheless treated with great reverence. Their brown hides are often painted with sacred symbols of protection, and their horns hung with totems and charms. While these creatures are mostly used for travel and carrying heavy loads, on some larger skallashi people are able to built miniature rooms for more comfortable travel. To own one is often considered a sign of considerable prosperity.
As unpredictable as he is brutal, the dethroned reaver king Gangplank is feared far and wide. Once, he ruled the port city of Bilgewater, and while his reign is over, there are those who believe this has only made him more dangerous. Gangplank would see Bilgewater bathed in blood once more before letting someone else take it—and now with pistol, cutlass, and barrels of gunpowder, he is determined to reclaim what he has lost.
"I was cutting throats and sinking Noxian war galleys when you were still pissing your britches, boy. You don't want to take me on."— Gangplank
Gangplank is a cruel pirate captain who maintains his power through fear alone. As such, he can be exceedingly brutal in his methods, even torturing members of his own crew should they step out of line. With bone-carving and mutilation, Gangplank also showcases an artistic side in his own sick and twisted way. In his quest to be feared, Gangplank often touts his own reputation to frighten people into submission. He often remarks at how many have tried (and failed) to kill him, and shows a remarkable resistance to pain when he orders a doctor to amputate his arm without a fuss. Gangplank is shown to have little remorse for his cruel behavior, killing Sarah Fortune's mother without mercy.
Gangplank and Illaoi were in a relationship over a decade ago, but eventually broke up. After subjecting him to a Test of Spirit in order to get him back 'in motion', the Kraken Priestess ordered the Serpent Islander chiefs to support the Saltwater Scourge in retaking Bilgewater. They would lead Gangplank to Buhru artifacts that could control the Black Mist. Illaoi was Gangplank's first love. She would eventually oppose him alongside Ahri, Braum, Miss Fortune, Pyke, and Yasuo in Ruined King.
Gangplank would enter a partnership with Thresh in Ruined King, in order to awaken and subjugate Viego to conquer Bilgewater. Viego's power would prove too strong for Gangplank and ended up controlling him instead.
Swain and Zed want Gangplank dead for stealing from each of them. Namely, Gangplank stole Swain's personal warship known as the Leviathan and ransacked the Temple of the Jagged Knife belonging to Zed'sShadow Order.
Miss Fortune managed to overthrow and 'kill' Gangplank in revenge for him murdering her mother back when she was a girl. Gangplank had only thought of Miss Fortune as the most persistent of bounty hunters, unaware that she is the daughter of the gunsmith he killed when she refused to hand over the twin pistols he had commissioned in order to spearhead his rise to Reaver King of Bilgewater.
Miss Fortune would defeat Gangplank again in Ruined King and had him detained in order to publicly execute him as a show of power. He would escape before his execution and entered a massive gang war against Fortune.
The massive Noxian war captain shuddered and dropped his axe as Gangplank rammed his cutlass deep into the man's gut. Blood bubbled from the warrior's tattooed lips as he mouthed an unheard curse.

Truth Bearer, this is why we must retreat to Buhru. We cannot save the paylangi' the Hierophant said. The heavy-set woman grinned, obviously pleased by the prospect of leaving Bilgewater.
Bilgewater's White Wharf had earned its name thanks to the layer of bird waste covering it from end to end, which was only to be expected at a resting place for the dead. Folk here didn't bury corpses; they returned them to the sea. A grave of the sunken dead hung suspended in the cold depths, marked by hundreds of bobbing grave-buoys. Some were merely name posts, while others were elaborate tomb markers carved to resemble rearing krakens or buxom sea wenches.
Bilgewater. A haven for Runeterra's most notorious monster hunters, mercenaries, and scoundrels. For decades, a ruthless pirate named Gangplank kept the city in check. Under his merciless rule, Bilgewater was an orderly place to make a dishonest living. But now Gangplank is dead. Murdered, by a crimson-haired bounty hunter seeking vengeance for her parents' deaths. Bilgewater has descended into chaos. Only the woman who killed Gangplank can save it. Her name is Sarah. They call her Miss Fortune.
Black Mist pours across Runeterra, enthralling its champions and shrouding the continent in darkness. If the last Sentinels are going to save Runeterra, they're going to need all the help they can get. And that means you Rookie!
Blood on the Streets, Glory in Death, Down to the Bearded Lady/nThe Butcher Blades had hung the Jackdaw from a rusted marlinspike through his jawbone and left him for the quayside scavengers. This was the seventeenth murdered ganger the hooded man had seen tonight.
Though the Black Mist fades and the souls it claimed will soon forget their past, the threat of the fell tide will not be forgotten. Worse than all previous years, those who lived are left to wonder where it will return, and whether anyone will survive when it does.
Death's Daughter is the name of the Dead Pool's (Gangplank's now-destroyed ship he took from his father) in the old main cannon.
The ship Gangplank stole from Swain is called Leviathan, though it is unknown if it is the same ship as the 7Leviathan that appears in Legends of Runeterra.
A tip shown in Legends of Runeterra and his artwork show that he likes to eat oranges dipped in the ocean beforehand and calls them "sweet and salty" (he eats them without peeling first).
