John Richardson is the father of Bennett Richardson, who shot and killed Henry Gleason.

History[]

After Bernard and Cosgrove found out that Gleason was murdered by Bennett, Bernard and Cosgrove raided the Richardson home. Bernard and Cosgrove then found the bullets that killed Gleason and they arrested Bennett and John. The DA's office decided to try Bennett as an adult and the motion was granted. Bennett claimed that Gleason was accidentally murdered by him after he brought the gun as protection to defend himself against a bully. When Maroun discovered that Bennett had stabbed Gleason accidentally, Maroun also discovered that John paid Gleason's father to keep quiet about the stabbing.

Bennett told a therapist that John got Bennett the gun for his birthday and he also told the therapist that John encouraged Bennett to find back against his bully. Bennett claimed that he only brought the gun to school because he thought John would've wanted that. Price then discussed with McCoy to allow them to try John for indirectly causing the murder of Henry Gleason. While Price and Maroun tried to get Bennett to flip on John, Bennett's lawyer requested full immunity to go against John.

McCoy then agreed and took John to trial for Henry's murder. At the trial, John requested that Bennett testify against him to tell them what really happened. Bennett broke down on the stand and couldn't continue his testimony against John. Price and Maroun then put Bennett's mother on the stand to testify against John which she ultimately agreed to. In the end, John was convicted of indirectly causing Henry's murder. (L&O: "Legacy")
