Lyle is a prisoner held up in a cell on the White Tower's first level. Baccata recognizes him as a thief who was banished from Gladstone the year before. He has since then been captured and imprisoned by Jana, Queen of the Amazons. He has 10 Silver Crowns and the enchanted Amber Ring, which he promises to give the Champion upon freeing him. Alternatively, he may be killed or left to his fate, but the ring is required to open a passage in the White Tower that is otherwise inaccessible.

Baccata: I recognize him. That is the thief that was banished from Gladstone last year!
Lyle: Th-that w-was a mistake. You won't hold a grudge will you?
The Champion: Why are you in here?
Lyle: J-J-Jana th-the l-l-leader o-of th-the A-A-Amazons p-p-put m-me h-h-ere.
Lyle: I-I h-have t-ten crowns. It is yours if y-you s-set me f-free.

Lyle: (First time): Th-Thank you! Here are the crowns that I promised.
Lyle: Surely you wouldn't want me to go without ANY money.
Lyle: (Second time): Thank you, kind sirs. Here is the ring I promised.
Lyle: Oh, yes, the crowns too.
Lyle: I have to keep a couple of crowns to get home, don't I?
Lyle: (Third time): I went through great pains to liberate this ring from this tower. It can be used to open a passage near the entrance to the tower. Take it and the 5 crowns I promised.

Lyle: (First time): What do you need a weapon for?
The Champion: Not your lucky day is it?
Lyle: (Second time): Hey! Y-y-you d-d-don't have to g-get v-v-violent!
Lyle: (Third time): N-Now you'll n-never know my s-s-secret.
The Champion: Feel my blade you blithering dolt!

Lyle: (First time): W-wait! I-I h-have a r-r-ring that y-you could have too!
Lyle: (Seconde time): D-d-don't go! Th-the r-ring is m-magical.I-I'll tell you about it.
Lyle: (Third time): Y-You c-can't just l-leave me h-here!
Lyle: (Returning): So, you have returned for the ring?
