Liminaritas
Liminaritas[1] est sensus ambiguitatis vel confusionis qui in medio gradu rituum transitoriorum fit, cum participes non iam statum suum ante ritum obtinent, sed transitum nondum coeperunt ad statum quem ritu confecto obtinebunt. Participes per liminarem ritus gradum ad limen stant, ut dicitur, prioris modi eorum identitatis, temporis, vel civitatis construendi modique novi, quem ritus constituet.
Notio liminaritatis primum saeculo XX ineunte ab Arnoldo van Gennep, ethnologo Francico excogitata est, et deinde a Victore Turner, anthropologo Americano, suscepta.[2] Latior nominis usus recentius fit, ad describendam mutationes civiles et culturales, ac ritus publicos.[3] Per liminaria omnium generum tempora, hierarchiae sociales ad tempus inverti vel dissolvi, continuitas morum incerta fieri, futurique eventus olim sumpti in dubium vocari possunt.[4] Dissolutio ordinis per tempus liminaritatis rem fluidam et ductilem, quae institutiones moresque novos constitui sinit.[5] Nomen praeterea in usum vulgarem transiit, ubi multo latius adhibetur, eius significationem aliquantulum labefactans.[6]
