Summary[]
In the Abyss, the Yuta rescue team race towards an exit while fighting against the Tarakas. However, Marut blocks their path. Maruna tells the god to move aside since she is no match to them. Kalavinka petitions they first hear what she has to say. Marut yells at them that "I'm here to help you! If you take this path you will all die!"
Outside an Abyss entrance, select, powerful gods have arrived with the intent to carry out a-yet-to-be-revealed plan devised by Brahma. Through Ratri, it is revealed the Asura clan plays a distinct role in Brahma's plan. Indra comments how everyone is participating due to Brahma's involvement. The Yakshas and the Kinnaras who previously sided with Yuta have now withdrawn their protection. Only Vritra remains in defiance of the primeval god. Varuna replies that if Vritra remains opposed to the god/sura alliance, everything they do will be meaningless. A god named Pushan, the God of Pasturage, asks if it is safe for them, the gods, to gather in such a hostile place. Annoyed at Pushan's doubts, Indra insists they should have brought other 4th zen gods even if they are weaker than Pushan. Asvins and Varuna defend Pushan claiming that she is replacing not just one god, but three absent gods (Agni, Kubera, and Surya) and can hold her own, despite her timidness. Indra retorts that not only in she timid, she is also a coward. Pushan asserts herself by communicating her belief that there is "a fundamental problem with this operation", but Varuna disagrees. With the Tarakas suppressed and the sura clans cooperative, "Brahma-nim has a sure-fire way to kill [Yuta]". They, the gods, just need to carry out their roles as instructed to prevent the throne from passing on to the rakshasa. Pushan is adamant on the legitimacy of her concern. If any of the important gods die, the plan can quickly derail. Even if they find a replacement god like her, there is also the problem of the rumor of Yuta resurrecting without any of memories "and become truly evil." Indra laughs at her face claiming they are rumors fabricated by Taraka to discourage anyone from attempting to kill Yuta, and mocks her. Varuna tells Pushan if she has any objections, she should tell it directly to Brahma who will arrive soon. As more gods arrive, Ratri notices that Marut has gone missing.
Marut leads the rescue team to a different exit. When the group questions her motives, the god replies that giving in and following the rest of the gods would have been the easier path to take, but she does not want to commit anymore sins and has also noticed that something strange is occurring in the god realm. She observes that it is "As if all those who seemed smart have suddenly gone crazy", but concedes maybe she did not notice it before.
Marut thinks back to the confrontation she had with cheerleader Kubera in S3, Ep.250 about them "sucking up to that damned Brahma" in order to maintain their places as beings to crossover to the next universe. She reveals that she has been harboring hatred towards Brahma, was suspicious of Kubera, and thought of Indra as an ally – but she was wrong. The number one person who grovels to Brahma the most was none other than Indra.
Sona tells Marut to speak in terms he can understand. Marut goes on a tirade of how the gods have dropped all their reason in order to follow Brahma's will even they were opposed to killing Yuta previously. They chose to disregard how Visnu spared Yuta when he was a weak child and had arranged for Shuri to help the king-to-be hone his self-control when he inherits the throne.[1][2] Leez reflects how it is due to Shuri's teachings that he took the extreme action of gauging his own eyes and bounding himself.[3] Maruna and Kalavinka are stunned at the revelation. Whatever the "definite end" is, Leez is sure that it is not due to Yuta. Marut airs her frustration at the gods for acting as if Brahma is the only primeval. Even if there are others who think this all nonsense like her, they still follow Brahma out of fear. The one thing keeping Marut's resolve strong is her fear of "carrying the sins of [her] past, facing the end without receiving forgiveness... that is [her] greatest fear." Maruna's expression is darkened by the god's sentiment.[4] Marut then tells the group that this way is the quickest way to reach Yuta. She warns them they may encounter Vritra, but he should not pose much resistance since he is a reluctant god ally. However, instead of Vritra greeting them, it is Ravana in male form excited at the sight of Leez.[5]
Currygom's comment[]
For those who don't remember Ravana, Ravana appears in S3 Ep.184 in female form, in S3 Ep.193 in male form, in S3 Ep.229 in both forms. As for why Leez recognizes him, please refer to S3 Side Story 9, Wish (1)

(Pic 1: The gang fighting their way out of the Abyss, with sura form Kala) Eyes
If it weren't for those eyes, they could've already blasted their way free with transcendentals. If Kubera was a game, wouldn't the level featuring Tarakas with eyes be considered the most annoying and troublesome?
(Pic 2: Indra intimidating Pushan) Shudder
Indra is popular with goddesses, but only among those who only have seen Indra's external image from afar. Pushan's terrified expression probably wasn't just because she's afraid of Taraka.
(Pic 3: Yuta and Leez flashback) Peaceful mood
This was when Leez was still a teen. Back then, Yuta still wasn't tied up or anything.
(Pic 4: Marut's back) The meaning of 'Dark History'
For Marut, the days of her dark history do not seem to be a matter of being simply ashamed...
*T/N: she said the days of her twin-tail hairstyle are her "dark history" (shameful/embarrassing past).[6]
Notes[]
- A glimpse of Pushan was seen in S1 Ep.65.
- In S1, Ep.54, Yuta has a flashback with Visnu in the background as Shuri teaches him self-discipline.
- Ravana has killed Leez multiple times over the last 7 years and considers the nastika as irredeemable.[5][7]
