Kamen Rider Kuuga: Special Chapter (仮面ライダークウガ 特別篇, Kamen Raidā Kūga Tokubetsu-hen) is the director's cut version of the first two episodes of Kamen Rider Kuuga compiled together. It also includes the hidden episode 50. It was released on VHS and DVD on October 21, 2001.
About the release[]
It can't end with a free re-edited version! "Kuuga" was originally shot with a high-definition camera. However, in fact, when broadcasting on TV, the high-definition material was broadcast down to the same format as D2, which is the same as normal TV broadcasting. In other words, the original video material is of high quality, but since a broadcasting system compatible with high-definition has not yet been established, it was broadcast with a slightly lower quality according to the current broadcasting system. Therefore, this work is digitally edited and post-professional when making a DVD master from a high-definition master.
This has dramatically improved the image quality. In addition, there are many videos cut in the editing stage in these episodes 1-2, and these unbroadcast scenes are also added this time. In addition, digital compositing corrections and CGI additions that were not possible during the production period have also been made.
Of course, Good Job and the screening event held on May 12th are also included as video benefits. This is a must-see for fans! A parody version of a regular character that was screened at the "Kuuga" launch party and was produced by volunteers from the cast staff.
Errors[]
- In 24:25, A trimming error is seen on Xu·Gmun·Ba's left arm.
Notes[]
- This is the first director's cut to be released in the Heisei Kamen Rider series.
- As seen in the Blu-Ray release of the series, this special is the first and only episode to use the original component masters, as most of the pre-Kiva Kamen Rider shows used the modified component masters for all releases of the episodes, with rather questionable quality.
