This article is about an electronic toy in the Kamen Rider Series. |
The Vital Bracelet (バイタルブレス, Baitaru Buresu, lit. Vital Brace) is an electronic toy step counter/heart monitor wrist band device created by Bandai. The device utilizes gamification to encourage exercise and activity is monitored through the associated "VITAL BRACELET CHARACTERS Lab" app available to download on users' smartphones from both the App Store and Google Play markets. New characters can be uploaded into the device using an individual collectible memory card called a VMB.[1]
Originally created for the Digimon franchise as a standalone tie-in product to its Ghost Game anime, Bandai released new variations exclusively for the anniversaries of Kamen Rider (50th) and the Ultra Series (55th) during the summer of 2021. In particular, the Rider VB uses VBM cards called VS Cards. Some are based on a single Rider’s evolutionary line of form changes while others have a collection of Riders from a specific era or TV series. Depending on the users' performance both physically and in-game, characters can evolve in other forms or Riders.
At the special fall 2021 edition of SDCC, Bluefin Brands announced a US release for the device in 2022.[2]
The line of Rider memory cards ended in mid 2022 with no new updates, as the anniversary had ended and Bandai replaced the device with the newer BE model, which focused more on characters from popular anime.
Training[]
The system allows four different training programs:
Change Timer[]
The time it takes for a Kamen Rider to access new forms depends on the users' own personal progress.
- Note: The chart on the right represents the recommended amount of time needed to ascend to the next phase.
Vitality[]
Users' can gain a certain number of "vitality points" the more daily activities they do. The faster the users' heartbeat is, the more points they gain. Points can also be gained through constant training and winning in combat. However the longer the user does not use the Vital Bracelet, the more points they will lose, and that will be shown through the mental state of the Rider on the bracelet.
Trophies[]
Trophies can be gained by clearing missions. Missions are distributed in varying difficulties, with the harder ones requiring more intensive use of the users' bodies but will award a larger number of trophies.
Win Rate[]
Win rate is determined by battles won through auto battles and battles with friends. A higher win rate can accelerate the rate at which the users' Rider can evolve, so it's recommended for users' to farm battles.
- Note: A Rider will disappear if the user loses three consecutive battles.
