In the Kamen Rider series, a mysterious figure whose origins, identity, and purpose are unclear will appear. Their identity is typically hidden from the audience and/or in-universe characters while they monitor the situation from the sidelines and provide support to characters of varying affiliations to their own liking. Furthermore, their identity is generally intended to be a major plot twist.
