Barocius è un cratere lunare di 82,72 km situato nella parte sud-orientale della faccia visibile della Luna.
All'osservazione appare come una formazione circolare danneggiata situata sulla parete sud-est del più ampio cratere Maurolycus. I versanti sono abbastanza scoscesi su essi si sovrappongono Barocius B e C a nord-est. Le pareti sono alte specialmente a sud-est e sul fondo tormentato si trovano Barocius W, una piccola montagna decentrata, piccoli crateri e linee di creste. Si pensa che la sua formazione risalga al periodo nettariano (tra i 3,92 miliardi di anni e i 3,85 miliardi di anni fa). Il periodo migliore per la sua osservazione è 6 giorni dopo il novilunio oppure 5 giorni dopo il plenilunio.[1]
Il cratere è dedicato al matematico italiano Francesco Barozzi.
