You went all grumpy but we are a lot alike! You want to destroy things, Ragna. Nu, the world, even yourself. You want to smash all to pieces, huh? What do you say? We could, you know, just end the world and be together forever. You've been so lonely, Ragna, but those days will be over!
~ Nu to Ragna

v-No.13-, more commonly known as Nu-13, is a major antagonist of the BlazBlue series. She is the main antagonist of the first installment, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, then becomes a supporting antagonist in later installments. She is a Murakumo Unit and a 13th Boundary Interface Prime Field Device who is modeled after Saya and lusted after Ragna the Bloodedge, hoping to fuse with him to become the Black Beast. As of BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, she has discarded her identity as Nu-13 and has chosen the name Juusan.

She is voiced by Kanako Kondō in Japanese and Cristina Vee in English, whose both voice actresses also voiced Noel Vermillion/Mu-12 and Lambda-11 in the same series, while the latter also voiced Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica series.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

Calamity Trigger/Prologue[]

  • She has repeatedly drag herself and Ragna into the Cauldron and merged into a Black Beast that would terrorize the world for a whole century. She has done this for an endless time loop until Noel intervenes and saves Ragna.
  • In one timeline, she killed past Tsubaki in front of past Jin, who would later become Hakumen.

Chronophantasma[]

  • After being rebooted, she attacked Ragna in his weakened state.
  • Partnered up with Azrael and ambushed Litchi and Tager. They would have killed Litchi if Kagura had not intervened.
  • Attacks Noel then synchronized with her status as the Eye of the Azure.
  • Opened the gates to the Nemesis Horizon, summoned the Amaterasu Unit into the world, then finally merged with the Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi which would be used to change the fate of the world.
  • Stabbed Ragna in the back even after he saved her. Which would cause Ragna’s Azure Grimoire to go berserk.
  • While she does have comedic moments whenever she appears in the Gag Reels, particularly in The Blue Eyes - Phantom Thieves, none of them are canon so they do not detract her evil deeds at all.

Central Fiction[]

  • Hunts for Nox Nyctores (which are the set of eleven weapons created to combat the Black Beast) and fights anyone who wields them.
  • Attempts to finish off Nine the Phantom, but she was interrupted by Jubei.
  • She and Jubei have continued fighting until they were near the Amaterasu Unit, which she would attempt to destroy it.
  • After being awakened by Terumi, she went berserk and attacked everyone on sight and came very close to killing present Tsubaki.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She is far too tragic to be NPE, as she was created in a laboratory via Saya’s vessel with several cords connecting to her body, including a big one to her right eye. She also has almost no freedom; constantly being used as a pawn for other villains such as Terumi, Hazama, Relius, and Izanami. Her life is basically a torture.
  • Due to how she was created, she lacked any moral agencies as she was unable to understand what she was doing was wrong.
  • While her love for Ragna can be seen as obsessive and twisted, she still genuinely loves him, which was somewhat confirmed near the end of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift when she took the blow from Terumi to save Ragna.
  • Her temporary death in Continuum Shift was played with sympathy as even Ragna felt genuine sad for her sacrifice.
  • She was ultimately redeemed after the events of Central Fiction as she discarded her old life and even removed her old code name and made herself a new identity: Juusan.

Trivia[]

  • She is only BlazBlue character, so far, to be Inconsistently Heinous.
  • She is one of two BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle characters to be Inconsistently Heinous, along with Tohru Adachi.
