~ Ibzan threatening the Flames. |
Ibzan is the main antagonist of the 2016 video game Deadbolt. He serves as one of the two unseen overarching antagonists of the Zombie Kingz chapter (alongisde Madam Stela) and one of the two overarching antagonists of the 1000 Year Royals chapter (alongside Sir Stela). He later becomes the main antagonist of The Dredged chapter, and subsequently the entire game.
Ibzan served as the former reaper who worked with the clandestine organisation known as the Candles, serving his superior only known as The Flames, until his subsequent betrayal due to his superior's neglect and abandonment that drove him to villainy. He is largely responsible for the events of the game, including the distribution of the drug known as Ash, to both the Zombie Kingz and 1000 Year Royals, before betraying both organizations for his own ends to create the Corpse Portal and enter the Land of Warmth to kill the Flames, once and for all. However, he was subsequently killed by the current Reaper in a standoff.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- In the past, Ibzan creates his own undead army, The Dredged, in order to take revenge against his superior, The Flames, for betraying him.
- Ibzan is largely responsible for the events of the game, including the existence of the drug known as Ash, where he sent it to the other suppliers including the Zombie Kingz and 1000 Year Royals.
- He and his army later mass-murdered the entire 1000 Year Royals members residing within Sir Stela's apartment, and with Ibzan later betraying Sir Stela himself.
- Ibzan later betrays both the 1000 Year Royals and Zombie Kingz, as evident when the Reaper found a cargo crate full of corpses of the members of their respective organizations, as a way for their bodies to be used for the Corpse Portal.
- Ibzan and his Dredged army later enter through the Corpse Portal and attempt to find The Flames to kill him, once and for all, and later Reaper for his interference.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Ibzan is mostly portrayed as tragic throughout the game, as most of his actions stemmed from his former master's betrayal, which in turn made him a damned soul, harboring revenge against his master, but at the same time he repented for his mistake after his death at the hand of the Reaper.
- He is also grey-zoned, as while he strikes a deal with the Zombie Kingz and 1000 Year Royals, he later betrays them once the Corpse Portal has been constructed. At the same time, he only shows understandable anger towards the Reaper during their battle in the Land of Warmth, and later showed remorse after he was killed by him.
- His death at the hands of the Reaper was taken for sympathy, which ended his long suffering.
Trivia[]
- Ibzan is currently the only villain in Deadbolt that is Inconsistently Heinous.
