Oh snap! This face comes with a sweet new body!
Whooo! Talk about a makeover!
Is this for real? I get Great Sage powers too?!
This is even better than being a Dark Lord!
I'm now...an even Darker Lord!
~ The Dark Curse after becoming The Darker Lord.

The Dark Curse is the main antagonist of the 2017 Nintendo 3DS video game Miitopia, along with the 2021 Nintendo Switch version. It would possess a factory worker, and later on the great sage, and cause chaos all over Miitopia.

It's Evil Ranking[]

What Makes It heinous?[]

  • Throughout the game, it would go around the world and put the faces of various Miis on monsters, with the faces still being alive. The monsters are violent too, and the Mii faces have no control over the monsters. This would give them a fate worse than death.
  • It possessed an innocent factory worker and did terrible things while doing so, with him still alive and not having any control, which resulted in some Miis thinking he was a terrible person.
  • It would kidnap the hero's friends every time they'd defeat one of its stronger monsters.
  • It does the same thing to The Great Sage as it did to the factory worker when it gets defeated as the Dark Lord after attempting to do it to the protagonist.
  • It takes immense sadism in the chaos it inflicts, often making sadistic comments about the fates of his victims and never once felt bad for any of them.

What Makes It Inconsistent?[]

  • It has a legitimately tragic backstory, as everyone would constantly ignore its existence back when it was a Mii. This led to it being desperate, and eventually depressed, so it decided it was ugly and should seal its face away. However, by doing so, it had no body, and its spirit would wander around for a very long time, getting consumed by various negative emotions and darkness towards the Miis for leaving it so alone. This would influence it to become what it is by the time the story takes place, as by doing what it did, it was just trying to get what it never got while it was alive, which was attention.
  • It most likely does not have a moral agency, as it was most likely consumed by the negative emotions and darkness, and immediately stopped being evil once it was no longer a spirit.
  • If you save it, it redeems itself, doing various nice things across the world to make up for the stuff it did. You even meet it again later on when it opens the Tower of Dread.

Trivia[]

  • The Dark Curse is the only Miitopia villain to be Inconsistently Heinous.
